GoGoDiscover a T.rex at Chantry Place on National Dinosaur Day

Celebrate National Dinosaur Day on Saturday 15th May 2021 at Chantry Place by meeting the first and only GoGoDiscover Tyrannosaurus-Rex sculpture to be revealed before the trail starts this Summer.

See one of the striking and colourful T.rex designs up close at the illuminated rainbow on Chantry Square between 11am and 3pm. People can have a selfie with the sculpture, with the option of making a donation to children’s charity Break.

The Break team will also be on hand to tell people about the GoGoDiscover trail this Summer and its vital work across East Anglia in providing lifelong support to children and young people in care, on the edge of care or leaving care. GoGoDiscover is a 10 week trail delivered by Break in partnership with Wild in Art and starts on 12th July.

The 2 metre tall T.rex sculpture being revealed on Saturday 15th May is sponsored by Norwich BID and has been designed and decorated by artist, Martin Wall, who spent many weeks bringing his design to life.

We caught up with Peter Marron, GoGoDiscover project manager, who said: “The T.rex being revealed on National Dinosaur Day has really got the wow factor and will look incredible in front of Chantry Place’s beautiful rainbow. This is the only chance to see a decorated T.rex before the trail this Summer, when 20 large T.rex will adorn the streets of Norwich. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone’s reaction to this colourful, colossal creature and giving them a teaser of what’s to come.”

The main GoGoDiscover trail takes place between Monday 12th July and Saturday 11th September 2021.
