Afternoon Tea-Rex voted a fan favourite by trail hunters
News: 23 September 2022
Back to newsIt’s no surprise he was such a hit with visitors with all his cakes and decorations, but now we officially know how loved our sponsored GoGoDiscover T.rex, Afternoon Tea-Rex, was as he has been voted by trail fans using the GoGoDiscover app as one of their top three T.rex this summer. Plus, Sirdavidsaurus Rex, who was located on Chantry Square, also made the top three!
Over the summer we hosted six large GoGoDiscover T.rex sculptures and 30 Breakasaurus T.rex sculptures as part of the GoGoDiscover Learning & Community Programme with packs found on the dining terrace, in House of Fraser and in Langleys window at the Centre.
The GoGoDiscover charity sculpture trail was delivered by East Anglian based children’s charity Break, in partnership with Wild in Art. Each sculpture was decorated by local and national artists and sponsored by businesses from across the region. We were a presenting partner of GoGoDiscover 2022 and sponsored Afternoon Tea-Rex, which was decorated by the talented artist Mik Richardson.
Break works hard to continue to transform futures and change the lives of vulnerable children and young people across the region. The GoGoDiscover auction, hosted by Break, will be taking place next week and we hope that all the dinos and mammoths raise an incredible amount of money for the charity.
