At Chantry Place, we have officially been accredited as a Living Wage Employer
News: 23 February 2023
Back to newsThe real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate that is voluntarily paid by over 11,000 UK businesses that believe their staff deserve a wage which meets everyday needs and is an independently calculated hourly rate of pay that is based on the actual cost of living.
Our Living Wage commitment will see all staff working for the centre receive a minimum hourly wage of £10.90. This commitment also applies to third-party contracted staff.
Paul McCarthy, Chantry Place’s general manager, said: “The Living Wage movement has positively affected thousands of people by allowing them to earn a wage that they can live on, and being a part of it reflects our values and investment in our staff. They work exceptionally hard keeping our visitors safe and the centre clean, so we need to ensure they are adequately rewarded.”
Katherine Chapman, director of the Living Wage Foundation, said: “We’re delighted that Chantry Place has joined the movement of over 11,000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on.”
