The Alive UK Christmas appeal, supported by Chantry Place, has now closed for donations and we are happy to announce that 2,653 gifts were donated by visitors to the appeal – beating last year’s total of 2,101. This will allow 962 families in Norfolk to be supported with gifts.

The Alive team volunteers will now allocate the gifts to families they support and drop them off to them, along with wrapping paper and sticky tapes, so that they can choose how and when they give the presents to children and their caregivers.

Jo Bates, our operations manager at Chantry Place, said: “It is incredible that we received even more donations to the appeal this year and we would like to thank our wonderful visitors who donated to the appeal and picked up something extra when they were shopping to help local families in need this Christmas. We always hear such heartwarming stories from the Alive volunteers every year of when they take the presents to the families and the reaction and relief they feel of being able to give their children something to open on Christmas Day. Everyone who supported the appeal really has made such a difference and we would like to thank our retailers who got involved too with donations.”

Alive UK is a local charity which aims to provide emergency support for people in crisis in Norfolk.

Jo Thorne, chair of trustees, and pastor of Alive Church said: “A massive thank you to everyone who has donated again this year to help give our local community a magical Christmas. Thank you to Chantry Place for supporting us with this appeal again and spreading the word about it, along with the Eastern Daily Press and Norwich Evening News and ARC Group who partnered with us.”

Alive UK, supported by Alive Church, is a registered charity.
