On Saturday 23rd September, ‘The Great Organ Hunt’, organised by Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals Organ Donation team, will start and end at Chantry Place.

A pink gazebo will be on Chantry Square between 10am-4pm.

There will be nine different ‘organs’ located around the city centre, and all people need to do is find the stamps for them, stamp the map and then return the completed map to the gazebo. All participants will receive a goody bag once they’ve completed the hunt!

Organ Donation Week is an annual campaign held in September (www.organdonation.nhs.uk). Right now across the UK, there are more than 7000 people in need of an organ transplant. On average three people die every day in need of an organ transplant because there aren’t enough organ donors.

Organ Donation Week will be from Monday 18th September – Sunday 24th September. During the week, the NNUH Organ Donation Team will be hosting several events, at the NNUH as well as in the community. The aim is to continue to raise awareness of the important need for families to talk about organ donation and for people to join the organ donor register to help save lives.
