Did you know that only 9% of all plastic produced is recycled and that 50% of plastic produced is used once for a few minutes and then discarded?

From Saturday 11th February until Saturday 18th February 2023, we are home to The Museum of Plastic exhibition by Precious Plastic.

Imagine a future without plastic pollution… the exhibition will explore the environmental and social harms caused by our current dependence on single-use plastics and presents possible steps we could take to eradicate them. Visit the exhibition to learn how you can help.

This exhibition aims to be educational, fun and interactive, and you can find it on the Chantry Place dining terrace.

You can have a go at the Fantastic Plastic Litter Arcade, explore the interactive exhibits, and contribute potential solutions to the plastics problem.

The exhibition is free to attend during opening hours and is suitable for all ages.

It is estimated that every minute of the day a truckload of plastic is dumped in the ocean, with damaging effects for animals and marine environments. Some have predicted that by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. As well as causing environmental problems this is also bad for human health, with microplastics recently being found in human blood and breastmilk.

Find out how you can help and visit our incredible exhibition this February.
