Health, Safety and Security
Safety measures
We continue to ensure that Chantry Place is a clean and safe place to be and it is our aim that you feel confident when visiting us and enjoying all that the Centre has to offer.
First aid
In case of an accident or emergency you’ll be in safe hands. Many of our team are trained in first aid skills and will assist where we can.
Post Covid-19 measures
Our team continue to regularly clean high frequency touchpoints and maintain high cleaning standards at the Centre. Whilst face coverings are no longer mandatory you are welcome to wear them should you wish.
Smoking
To comply with Health and Safety regulations and associated legislation, Chantry Place prohibits smoking and the use of e-cigarettes (including vapes) for both indoor and outdoor areas.
Smoking is prohibited in any external area within 10 metres horizontal distance of the building (this includes balconies, terraces and other regularly occupied outdoor asset spaces). To make this clear we have installed no smoking signs at 7.5m of all ground level entrances.
One designated smoking area is available away from entrances to the Chantry Place on Malthouse Road.
The smoking policy applies to members of staff, tenants, contractors and visitors.
Security
At Chantry Place we take your safety and security very seriously. Our highly trained security staff are here to ensure that Chantry Place remains a safe and friendly environment for all our visitors and staff, and in addition to Security Officers patrolling the Centre, high definition CCTV is operational throughout the Centre and car park and is monitored 24/7. We ask that you help us by being vigilant and reporting anything that you feel is suspicious or just not right to any member of the team wearing our uniform, or by calling our control room on 01603 75 33 41.
We also work closely with Norfolk Constabulary who can regularly be seen patrolling the Centre and carrying out Project Servator and we partner with Norwich Business Improvement District to help tackle and reduce crime and anti-social behaviour across the city.
Code of conduct
All of us here at Chantry Place are committed to making your experience with us as welcoming as possible. Whether you’re here for shopping, treating or eating it’s important to us that each and every one of you feels welcome. With that in mind we have few simple house rules that we hope will keep everyone happy.
Drones
You might be able to buy a UAV, or drone, at one of our retailers, but please wait until you get home before you try and use it. We are committed to keeping people safe and out of harm’s way when they visit us, as well as protecting the security and privacy of our staff and members of the public, so we don’t allow the use of drones anywhere on Chantry Place property without express permission. That includes inside the Centre, within our retail partners’ stores, in our car park and on adjacent land, or anywhere else within the Centre’s periphery. A member of our Centre Management team would be happy to speak to you if you have any questions, and thank you in advance for your cooperation.
