Discover Banham Zoo and Africa Alive at Chantry Place this Summer

As part of our Safari Summer, we are thrilled to be welcoming the educational team from Banham Zoo and Africa Alive to Chantry Place on select days throughout the school summer holidays.

The team will be with us on the opening weekend of our free and exciting animal safari trail on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd July.

They will also be with us on our Wild Wednesdays from 26th July until 30th August. Visitors will be able to visit the discovery station which will include artefacts, animal information, plus other zoo and animal related games. They’ll be located on the lower ground floor near HMV, so why not pop down to see them and learn some interesting facts about animals?

Also, the team will be with us on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th August, so there is plenty of opportunities to learn more about the animals you can find in the Centre.

Do you want to immerse yourself in the world of amazing animals at Banham Zoo as you witness captivating daily feeding talks? Do you want to marvel at the Birds of the World Display, where macaws, vultures, hawks, and owls showcase their natural behaviours and explore the Tropical House, a haven for exotic birds and plants from South America? Well, if you complete our trail, you can do just that but at a cheaper price!

Everyone who completes the trail will receive a goody bag from Chantry Place which includes a complimentary child’s ticket for free entry to Banham Zoo or Africa Alive Reserve with a full-paying adult.

The zoos also have a range of wild expeditions throughout the summer including Travel the World from 22nd July to 13th August and Unearth the Past from 14th August to 30th September. With so much planned this summer at Banham Zoo and Africa Alive, plus a child goes free voucher* with the completion of our safari trail, there really has been no better time to visit.

Joshua Hunter-Harl, head of marketing at The Zoological Society of East Anglia, the charity that runs Banham Zoo and Africa Alive Reserve, said: “We are thrilled to be part of the ‘Safari Summer’ event at Chantry Place and are excited to engage with visitors through our educational activities. As a conservation charity, education lies at the heart of everything we do, and a trip to Banham Zoo or Africa Alive Reserve offers students of all ages an unmissable opportunity to bring learning to life outside of the classroom. We hope our partnership will help to inspire a love of animals and nature in children and adults alike.”
