Darth Vader, Daleks and Sci-Fi fun on Father’s Day to raise funds for Break

NORCON and Norwich Droids will be bringing characters including Darth Vader, Daleks, Stormtroopers, Droids and Ghostbusters to Chantry Place on Sunday 18th June 2023 for a special Sci-Fi event to raise funds for Break.

The free event will take place on Father’s Day between 10am and 4pm on the lower ground floor near HMV at Chantry Place.

Paul McCarthy, our general manager, comments: “We can’t wait to welcome some incredible characters from Star Wars and Doctor Who to Chantry Place to raise funds for our friends at Break to support them in making life better for young people in and around care, and have lots of fun along the way. There will be plenty of opportunities for photos and a massive thank you to the team at NORCON and Norwich Droids for making this possible – and on Father’s Day too. We know this will be popular with visitors of all ages – including our team, who can’t wait to see the characters appear.”

Ron Auker, crew supervisor at NORCON, said: “We’re looking forward to bringing our team from a galaxy far, far away to Chantry Place for this special sci-fi fundraising day. This will be a great opportunity to see amazing hand built droids and have photos with some of the awesome characters who appear at our NORCON TV, film and comic con each year, while raising funds for Break. The event looks set to be out of this world, so who knows who you might bump into on the day!”

NORCON is a Norfolk TV, film and comic convention which will return to the Norfolk Showground Arena on 23rd and 24th September 2023.
