Ask Italian launches its new Christmas menu

Ask Italian has launched its new festive menu for the season featuring a Christmas carbonara.

Choose between two starters – a Caesar prawn cocktail and succulent prawns combined with crisp little gem lettuce and golden, herby breadcrumbs, all tossed in a creamy Caesar dressing. Or pork and sage meatballs al forno, tender pork and sage meatballs, served in a rich pomodoro sauce with melted mozzarella and Coppa ham.

For sides, try an Italian-inspired take on holiday favourite, pigs in blankets. Luganica-style sausages are wrapped in prosciutto, then drizzled with honey. Perhaps you’d prefer the luxurious truffle fonduta potatoes – roasted potatoes smothered in creamy bechamel sauce and truffled mushroom paste with melted mozzarella and aged hard cheese.

As a main try the Christmas carbonara which captures the flavours of the season. Why not try the Tuscan beef short rib served with roasted potatoes or a truffled mushroom orzo. Indulge in a decadent medley of cod, salmon, prawns, and potatoes in a creamy seafood sauce with red peppers and courgette with the seafood gratin. And for the pizza lovers, try the Natale Prima pizza with pulled turkey, pancetta and balsamic red onions marinated in smoked chili jelly, layered with Brussels sprouts, crispy sage, and aged hard cheese on a tomato and mozzarella base.

For desert why not try the gingerbread sundae, a sundae fit for the festive period. Layers of vanilla and salted caramel gelato topped with fudge, Biscoff biscuit crumbs and a gingerbread caramel sauce. Or celebrate with an Italian classic – the orange panettone pudding or a soft cinnamon swirl sponge.
