Everything you need to know about our city centre car park

The Chantry Place car park offers easy and convenient parking right in the heart of Norwich’s city centre.

With 1000 spaces, including disabled and family parking, electric charging and valet services, we pride ourselves on maintaining a safe, clean and accessible car park for all. Offering charge periods from 1 hour to all day, our car park is an ideal spot for shopping trips, theatre visits, meals out and more.

We have recently introduced two new ways to pay for your parking online – Pay as you park and pre-book.

To find our car park on your map app or sat nav please use postcode NR2 1SF. The entrance to our car park is located on Chapelfield Road.

Our car park is in close proximity to both the Theatre Royal and city centre amenities.
Our car park is open to the public seven days a week. The entrance to the car park is accessible during the following hours:
- Monday: 8.30am – 8pm
- Tuesday: 8.30am – 8pm
- Wednesday: 8.30am – 8pm
- Thursday: 8:30am – 8pm
- Friday: 8.30am – 8pm
- Saturday: 8.30am – 8pm
- Sunday: 9.30am – 8pm
You can exit the car park at any time, 24 hours a day. After the shopping centre closes, entry to the car park is via Chantry Road. This Chantry Road entrance can be found to the rear of the Theatre Royal and the Assembly House. If the doors are locked, please use the ‘out of hours’ intercom and you’ll be able to access the car park via the lifts.
From short stays to all day 24 hour parking and special off-peak rates, Chantry Place parking tariffs are as follows:
- Up to 1 hour: £1.75
- 1-2 hours: £3.50
- 2-3 hours: £5.25
- 3-4 hours: £7.00
- 4-6 hours: £10.50
- 6-8 hours: £17.50
- 8+ hours: £25
- Flat rate after 3pm (to 1am): £3.50
- Early hours rate (1am to 6am): £12
- Maximum 24hr charge: £25
Please note our pay machines accept card payments only.

Motorbikes can park for free all day at Chantry Place in the designated parking area.
Our parking management system operates using ANPR technology, so provided the cameras can read your number plate, there will be no need to take a ticket on entry as the barrier will simply open for you.

When you’re ready to leave the car park, use one of our six pay on foot machines to enter your registration, pay the tariff and drive to the exit barrier where it will automatically open for you.

If your number plate cannot be read on entry, please press the button for a ticket to raise the barrier and, when ready to leave, scan that ticket at the pay on foot machines to pay and scan again at the exit to leave.
We have recently introduced two new ways to pay that make using our car park even easier:

Pay as You Park

For easy automatic payments, simply create an online account with us before you enter the car park. This allows us to automatically charge your nominated debit/credit card once you leave our car park, allowing you the ease of just driving in and exiting without having to queue at the pay machines.

Pre-Booking

We operate a flat rate between 3pm and 1am, which can now be pre-booked. At just £3.50, it is ideal for late afternoon shopping, dinner on the Square or theatre trips.

Our car park has a total of 1,000 spaces over two levels. This includes:
- 43 disabled spaces: 27 on Level -1, 16 on Level -2
- 73 parent and child spaces: 24 on Level -1, 49 on Level -2
- A designated motorbike parking area. This can be found on Level -1, behind the car park office.
Our passenger lifts and escalators give easy access from the car park directly to our shops and out to Norwich city centre.

Chantry Place has achieved The Park Mark Plus Award, an elite award that demonstrates that we have the highest parking facility standards, and the Award of Excellence from Park Access which recognises the accessibility of our car park.

Please note we have a height restriction of 7ft 2in/2.2m in place when entering our car park.
Chantry Place has achieved the Disabled Parking Accreditation award by Disabled Motoring UK.

For safe and accessible parking in Norwich, we have 43 spaces reserved especially for disabled shoppers spread over both floors of our multi-storey car park. These are adjacent to the welcome halls to make your journey as easy as possible.

Please ensure you have a valid blue badge on display when parking in one of our accessible spaces.
Electric car charging

We’ve partnered with Zest to off eight electric car charging points. These can be found on car park level -2 along row 24. You simply connect your phone to Chantry Place Free WiFi, scan the QR code at the socket you wish to use, and use the Zest app to start charging.

The rate for EV charging is 50p p/kWh, and please note that Chantry Place parking costs still apply in addition to charging costs.

Car Valet services

Operating form our car park, the CarWash Company offers high-quality exterior and interior cleaning packages, meaning your vehicle can get spic and span while you enjoy all Chantry Place has to offer.

From a standard Gold interior and exterior valet, up to a full Delux showroom valet with ceramic wax, there are plenty of options to meet your needs.

You can find signage outside the entrance to our car park that displays the remaining number of parking spaces.
We operate a card-only payment system. Both contactless and chip and pin payment methods are available and should you have any issues while on site, our car park team is on hand to help.

Our designated motorbike parking area can be found on level -1, behind the car park office. Please enter by driving around the entrance barrier and exit around the side of the exit barrier.
You can prebook and pay for your parking in advance here and take advantage of our flat rate afternoon and evening tariff of £3.50.
Once your prebooking is confirmed the transaction is non-refundable.
Currently we only provide pre-booking for our late afternoon and evening flat rate period between 3pm and 1am.
The £3.50 flat rate is applicable only to visitors who arrive 3pm or later and exit the car park by 1am. If you arrive at the car park earlier or leave later the standard parking tariffs will apply.
Pay as you park is our automatic car park entry, exit and payment system. It operates via an online account, where your nominated debit/credit card is automatically charged once you leave our car park. It’s ideal for regular car park users, or if you don’t want to queue at a pay machine during peak times. You can sign up for an account here.
